DAX-ETF – the best ETF funds on the DAX

ComStage, Xtrackers, iShares and Co. – the best DAX ETF funds

For long-term wealth accumulation, we recommend an accumulating DAX ETF. A good choice is that iShares Core DAX® UCITS ETF (DE)* (ISIN DE0005933931/WKN 593393). The ETF is launched in Germany, the income is reinvested (accumulated) and the DAX is fully replicated physically. However, with an annual total expense ratio (TER) of 0.16 percent, the iShares Core DAX UCITS ETF (DE) is not one of the cheapest DAX ETFs. By the way, Stiftung Warentest rated this ETF in Finanztest issue 6/2020 as “1. Choice”.

You pay a little less for the Deka DAX UCITS ETF (ISIN DE000ETFL011/WKN ETFL01): 0.15 percent per year is an investment in the DekaBank ETF. The ETF, which is also launched in Germany and physically completely replicates the DAX, reinvests the income in the fund assets (accumulating). Stiftung Warentest also rated this DAX ETF in Finanztest issue 6/2020 with “1. Choice”.

One of the cheapest DAX ETFs is the Xtrackers DAX UCITS ETF 1C* (ISIN LU0274211480/WKN DBX1DA). For an annual fee of 0.09 percent you get a complete physical replica of the leading German index. The ETF of the Deutsche Bank subsidiary Xtrackers reinvests the income (accumulating).

You should take a look at the following DAX ETFs for the distributing index funds: ComStage DAX® TR UCITS ETF (ISIN LU0378438732/WKN ETF001), one of the cheapest DAX ETFs in terms of TER, ComStage 1 DAX® UCITS ETF (ISIN DE000ETF9017/WKN ETF901), Vanguard DAX UCITS ETF* (ISIN IE00BG143G97/WKN A2JF6S), Xtrackers DAX Income UCITS ETF 1D (ISIN LU0838782315/WKN DBX0NH) and Deka DAX (distributing) UCITS ETF (ISIN DE000ETFL060/WKN ETFL06).

All four DAX ETFs physically replicate the leading German index. The Deka DAX UCITS ETF is launched in Germany, distributes the income at least annually and costs 0.15 percent per year. The ComStage DAX® TR UCITS ETF is significantly cheaper with an expense ratio of 0.08 percent per year, the TER of the ComStage 1 DAX® UCITS ETF is 0.15 percent per year. Both ETFs of the Commerzbank subsidiary distribute the income annually. The Xtrackers DAX ETF costs 0.09 percent per year and also distributes the income annually.

Our recommendation: If the income from your DAX ETF is to be distributed regularly, then the ComStage DAX® TR UCITS ETF is the right choice. In terms of TER, the ComStage index fund is the cheapest DAX ETF of all. the iShares Core DAX® UCITS ETF (DE)* performs best in our comparison, it is perfect for long-term wealth accumulation. The Accumulating Xtrackers DAX UCITS ETF 1C* is also worth a look, the index fund impresses with its favorable TER.
