The Azzurri, led by Filippo Volandri, will play in Bologna from 14 to 18 September: Argentina and Sweden will also be in group A
Croatia, Argentina and Sweden. These will be Italy’s opponents in group A of the Davis Cup Finals, scheduled from 14 to 18 September with the group’s challenges to be played in Bologna (the other venues will be Valencia for group B, Hamburg for C and Glasgow for D). The best two national teams will then come out of each group and will be included in the knockout phase scheduled from 21 to 27 November in Malaga, home of today’s draw.

Italy reached the Davis Cup Finals by beating Slovakia 3-2 with Lorenzo Musetti’s decisive victory over Norbert Gombos, in comeback. Among the seeded, the Azzurri captain Filippo Volandri – placed in the second tier – therefore find Croatia after the defeat last year in the quarter-finals (the double victory of Mektic and Pavic against Fognini and Sinner was decisive). Argentina was caught from the third band, Sweden from the fourth. In group B Spain, Canada, Serbia and Korea will face each other; in C were included France, Germany, Belgium and Australia; the D is made up of the United States, Great Britain, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.
