TO less than a month after his appointment, Davide Rennenew creative director of Moschino, suddenly disappears. A death that shocks the fashion system: the designer was alone 46 years old.
The announcement comes on November 10, 2023the day of Davide Renne’s premature death, right from the top of Aeffe, the group to which the Maison belongs. A rising fashion star is leaving
A name known among industry experts. A successful man despite his agewho had already worked with prominent brands: in the past he led the women’s style office of Guccistarting from 2004, covering the role of Head designer for womenswear. In 1999 she began working in fashion with Alessandro Dell’Acquawho remembers him with a heartfelt Instagram post: “hi Davide, you will always be in my heart”.
And a heart-shaped sketch also stands out on the social page of the Italian brand who had chosen Davide Renne to relaunch herself, orphaned by the abandonment of Jeremy Scott from March 2023.
Premature death, at just 46 years old. Like Franco
By all accounts, Davide Renne was a designer with a sophisticated vision. With his whole life ahead of him: the Tuscan designer, born in Follonica in 1977, had studied Architecture before ending up in the glittering world of fashion. Student at Polimoda in Florence, his creative path in fashion was born from a sort of lightning strike, so much so that he abandoned his studies. The solid foundations founded on art make one think of the parallelism with the founder Franco MoschinoThat he wanted to be a painter and studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. The designer also died at just 44 years oldon 18 September 1994, in his home in Annone di Brianza following a heart attack due to intestinal cancer.
Destinies that cross. Beloved by colleagues and insiders, Davide Renne was known not only for his talent, but also for his kind ways. A professional who, without a doubt, would have given great surprises at the helm of a brand like Aeffe. What will become of Moschino’s future? In the meantime, celebrate his, albeit brief, legacy.
