Davide Nicola: “Rest at Salernitana, he gave me everything”

The coach protagonist of the comeback-salvation is ready to leave again: “What a passion in the city. If we had a stadium with 60,000 seats, we would fill it. The fans and Sabatini were decisive.”

– VIGONE (TURIN)

Everyone in Vigone calls him Didì. They stop him at every corner, there is no person who does not compliment him. One would think that here he is more popular than the mythical Varenne horse, at home for years. Yesterday around noon, while we are interviewing Davide Nicola sitting in a small garden in the shade of an old icebox, the twist is given to him by a school group: he suddenly emerges and intones a choir closed by applause. Nicola almost gets excited. Ten days have passed since the night of salvation, the Salernitana technician took refuge in his countryside for a little rest.
