Former world champion David Silva (37) has injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. This was announced by his club Real Sociedad San Sebastian on Thursday.
“David Silva had to stop yesterday’s training session due to problems in his left knee,” the club wrote on its website. An examination by a specialist is to be carried out in the coming week.
With the Spanish national team, Silva was world champion in 2010 and European champion in 2008 and 2012. Last season, he and his team qualified fourth for the Champions League.
