NHL superstar, Czech David Pastrnak got into a media frenzy in his home country after the star-studded weekend of the series.
26-year-old “Pasta” published a series of photos on Instagram on Tuesday, in one of which he posed with a Russian Aleksandr Ovechkin with.
Pastrnak’s Czech followers reacted strongly to the picture.
– Does the bomb emoji refer to Ovechkin’s friend (Vladimir) Putin’s to mass murders in which Ukrainians and their children have died? one commenter wrote and referenced Pastrank’s caption with a bomb emoji.
The picture received several critical comments referring to Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine, which received hundreds of likes.
Pastrnak eventually ended up removing the photo with the least amount of noise. The man has not commented on the matter in any way.
– It’s good that he deleted the picture, but I would be interested in his opinion. David should explain why he did that. His fans, of whom he has millions, deserve to hear his opinion, the legendary ex-goalkeeper Dominik Hasek58, said Bleskaccording to the magazine.
Ovechki is also known to be a supporter of Putin. In the profile picture of his own Instagram profile, Oveshkin poses with the president of his country.
