Bebe Rexha and David Guetta performed their dance hit “I’m Good (Blue)” at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (November 19) and said the song was never supposed to be released.

Speaking about the track, which took home the award for Best Dance Electronic Song at the show, Bebe said: “We made it in 2017. We didn’t think it would become a worldwide anthem. We just wanted to take a fun song from back in the day and make it feel good. I can’t believe how far this song has come.”

“It all started with TikTok”

The 34-year-old then turned to Guetta, who had submitted a video speech: “The story of ‘I’m Good’ is actually crazy. We just jammed in the studio four years ago and didn’t really want to release it. I was just playing it as a tool in my DJ set and someone sampled it. It all started with TikTok because someone used it as a TikTok sound. And here we are.”
