Kitty Liv on tour 2024

With their mix of R’n’B, swing, blues, country and grassroots folk from the 1940s and 1950s, the family band Kitty, Daisy & Lewis from London’s Kentish Town became known in the new millennium.

Performing on original antique instruments, the three siblings, supported by their parents on drums and guitar, gave these traditional genres a fresh coat of paint. Not only did she compose all of her songs herself, they also produced them in her own Durham Sound Studio in Camden.

After around 20 years together, Kitty Durham is now the first of the siblings to seek a solo career. The youngest of the three has been working on her own songs for several years now, which show her a completely different stylistic side.

She names the neo-soul stars Erykah Badu and D’Angelo as her most important influences for her solo music,
on the other hand, also the roots-infected sound of the blues legend Howlin’ Wolf and the classic soul of Al Green.

Kitty Durham, who calls herself Kitty Liv as a solo artist, adapts these sound and aesthetic characteristics in order to create her very own, absolutely timeless sound aesthetic. With “The River That Flows”, Kitty Liv released her first solo EP in 2021. With “Sweet Dreams”, the recently released first single from her solo debut album announced for early 2024, Kitty Liv is now getting serious about going it alone.

In March, Kitty Liv will play the songs from her debut at four concerts in Germany, presented by ROLLING STONE.
