Eight years have already passed since the current solo album by former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, and now there could soon be a successor to “Rattle that Lock”. Polly Samson, the rock musician’s wife, recently shared some pictures of him in his recording studio on Instagram and also spoke in an interview about new musical projects that the two are currently working on.
The couple is working on new songs together
In December, Samson was a guest in the Romanian online magazine “Ziles Inopti” and discussed her current work as an author. She shared how she and Gilmour had teamed up on song lyrics in the past. When asked what her future holds, the 61-year-old replied: “As for the future, I hope to be back with a new novel soon. Oh, at the moment I’m working on new songs with David Gilmour. Promising, isn’t it?” Samson has also made a name for herself as a lyricist for Gilmour’s songs.
Shortly before, the writer had opened for her followers Instagram posted some pictures showing her husband working together with some musicians in the recording studio. These included bassist Guy Pratt and Roger Eno on piano, with whom Gilmour had previously worked. Also visible is drummer Adam Betts and bassist Tom Herbert.

It is not yet known whether a full album will be released, and a release date has not yet been made public. David Gilmour’s last solo record “Rattle That Lock” was released in 2005, after which, apart from a single and the surprise song “Hey Hey, Rise Up” by Pink Floyd, the artist was largely silent.
