“Aladdin Sane”: More about the album
The album is the follow-up to 1972’s THE RISE AND FALL OF ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS and was released in April 1973. The work was produced and written during Bowie’s post-Ziggy years while traveling in the United States.
The record was originally co-produced by Bowie and Ken Scott and recorded at Trident Studios in London and RCA Studios in New York. It would be the last to feature the line-up of Mick Ronson (guitar, piano, backing vocals), Trevor Bolder (bass) and Mick “Woody” Woodmansey (drums), and also feature avant-jazz pianist Mike Garson .
2022 became Bowie’s fourth Studio album HUNKY DORY released as a deluxe reissue containing unreleased demos, live recordings and other rarities from the period.
