Dave on vitamins
Dave posted a photo on Insta last weekend, in which he ‘enjoys’ his drip with a coffee in his hand. “Clap some vitamins inside 💪🙏”, it says.
This is really about nothing, says science journalist Adriaan ter Braack, known on Twitter as the ‘holistic wrecking ball’ Sjamadriaan. “Wow, Dave Roelvink falls for a stupid health rant, who would have expected that?”
To be clear, that’s a rhetorical question.
Limoncello
Dave is ridiculed by Adriaan’s followers. “What’s in it? Limoncello? 🍋”, says entrepreneur Gradie.
And another: “His platelets sing in unison: ‘I’m going to swim…’”
Columnist Laetitia Ouillet finds it especially insensitive. “Regardless of how moronic it sounds, I think these kinds of photos are a slap in the face to people who are actually sick and have to get blood or chemotherapy through an IV.”
Waste of money
Epidemiologist Alma Tostmann thinks Dave is being rather stupid. ′′ To pee them out immediately! 🤷🏻 ♀️ All vitamins (except A, D, E and K) are water soluble; your body can’t ‘store’ what you get in too much and you just pee it out again 💦🤭.”
One Louise: “That will be a very expensive pee, suppose there is something else in it besides H2O, except coloring to make it look real, all superfluous vitamins are peeed out immediately. Not blonde, but very stupid.”
Well, Dave could use a foot bath after this mass slap to the face.
Ice bath
And then the bridge to the ice bath of his brother Donny Roelvink is quickly made. He shows every day on Instagram how he steps into a horribly cold bath in his stamp garden.
Not a good idea either, says Adriaan ter Braack. “I regularly see doctors in the DM who had to patch up an overenthusiastic yet hypothermic ice bather several times in the Emergency Department.”
What an era. Elon Musk clearly chose the wrong medium to vandalize…
