Beau Greaves is probably the best darter in the world. However, she is missing from the upcoming World Cup in London because she has already taken part in another tournament.

Beau Greaves is already darts world champion: The 19-year-old Englishwoman recently defended her title at the women’s tournament “World Darts Federation” (WDF) and thus underpinned her strong form. However, because she took part in this tournament, the currently strongest darter is now missing the much more prestigious Darts World Cup of “Professional Darts Corporation” (PDC), which takes place on December 15th at the London Alexandra Palace begins.

The PDC had banned participation in both tournaments and so Greaves had to make a decision. In the end, she chose the women’s tournament, where she successfully defended her title and collected the prize money of 25,000 English pounds. Greaves said: “Of course it wasn’t an easy decision, but I’m very happy that I chose the WDF World Championships.”

Pietreczko was clearly defeated by Greaves

She has already proven that Greaves can hold her own against male competition: in the “Grand Slam of Darts“In October she clearly defeated the German whiz kid Ricardo Pietreczko 5-1. To put it into perspective: Pietreczko is one of five German World Cup starters and is considered a German hope.

In addition to the 94 male players, two female players are also starting at the Darts World Cup: Fallon Sherrock from England and the Japanese Mikuru Suzuki. Greaves is rated as stronger than the two World Cup participants. For example, ex-world champion Rob Cross told the “German Press Agency” about Greaves: “She’s a breathtaking player. She has time on her side. She’s so young. She’s getting better and better. If she keeps improving, she can win the Men’s World Cup one day.”
