A darts evening in De Loo venue in Coevorden with legends of the sport, such as Darryl Fitton and Martin Adams. It should happen in less than two months.
The event is a benefit evening to raise money for the family of the late top darts player Andy Fordham. But because some of the big names have other commitments, the event has been postponed.
Of the well-known darts players who would come, only Daryll Fitton can now. The rest have tournament obligations in England, says organizer Albert Lubbelinkhof from Coevorden.
The intention was to organize a benefit evening on Saturday 15 April for the family of Andy ‘The Viking’ Fordham, the English top darts player who died in 2019. Lubbelinkhof was a good friend of Fordham and heard that his relatives had money problems.
Instead of a demonstration tournament, Lubbelinkhof is now organizing a darts tournament on that evening in April under the name Viking Cup. Anyone who wants to participate can register. Daryll Fitton, among others, is there, as is Andy Fordham’s family. Old darts belongings of Andy Fordham and fellow darts players, such as dartboards and shirts, will be auctioned.
