And again there was a violent crash after a motor vehicle race in Berlin – this time with an almost fatal outcome.
On Saturday night, highway police officials noticed a black Audi A3 speeding in Berlin-Siemensstadt shortly before midnight. The police gave chase and signaled the driver to stop. But instead of stopping, he went full throttle!
The officers followed the car for 3.5 kilometers across Siemensdamm when the driver lost control of the powerful Audi near a construction site and left the roadway.
The sedan ran over a street sign and rammed several feet into a property wall until the car came to a stop.
The man behind the wheel suffered serious injuries and was trapped in his vehicle. The pursuing police officers immediately provide first aid until the fire brigade reached the scene of the accident.
In order to free the man, the helpers had to force open the car with hydraulic rescue equipment. The man was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
In addition to a large sum of cash, a high-quality Rolex watch was also secured in the vehicle. The police are now investigating an illegal motor vehicle race.
