Dárdai enthusiastically welcomed by members

The 1380 members of Hertha BSC enthusiastically received coach Pál Dárdai at the beginning of the general meeting. The 47-year-old addressed the audience in a short speech and called on everyone to stick together.

“We’re passionate about Hertha, that’s why we’re here,” said the Hungarian. “We still have a little hope and are trying to stay in the league. But the matter is no longer in our hands.”

Despite the sporting and financial precarious situation of the club, Dárdai thanked the support in the city and within the club: “It’s just great.” At the same time, the club’s record player defended the new path under the leadership of President Kay Bernstein. “I like this path,” said Dárdai.

“Everyone will give everything”

Before the last two games against VfL Bochum on Saturday (3:30 p.m. / Sky) in the Olympic Stadium and a week later at VfL Wolfsburg, Hertha is five points behind the relegation place with 25 points. “Everyone will give their all to get three points against Bochum to have a chance on the final day,” said Dárdai, whose short speech was met with thunderous applause.

In addition, the members present gave a friendly round of applause to Benjamin Weber and Andreas Neuendorf. However, given the situation, many critical inquiries are expected.

Initially, a motion to exclude the journalists present from the meeting was rejected.
