Daphne Deckers, as wife of Richard Krajicek, was allowed to shake hands with King Willem-Alexander yesterday. Afterwards, she was quite embarrassing in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard.
Richard Krajicek’s foundation builds sports fields in special neighborhoods, which King Willem-Alexander thinks is a great initiative. He attended the 25th anniversary of this charity yesterday. During his walk with Richard, the king also saw space to approach Daphne Deckers. She had been married to Richard for 23 years yesterday.
Daphne for shelter
Daphne received a congratulation from the king. “Congratulations on your wedding day. 07-07, which is a bit the same as 02-02. Nice, congratulations. Nice to have you here today, fantastic.”
Shortly afterwards, Daphne stood as proud as a peacock in front of the camera of RTL Boulevard. She honestly thought that the king keeps a record of her wedding day in his diary. “Yeah, he came over and the first thing he said was, ‘Congratulations on your anniversary.’ Well, I didn’t know the king was keeping track. I was very honored that he knew at all.”
Richard intervenes
Ehh, the king who keeps track of the wedding day of the former presenter of Holland’s Next Top Model? Her husband Richard intervenes immediately. He whispers to Daphne that he had told the king that a few minutes earlier.
Richard: “Well, I told him. No, it’s not like he keeps it in his diary. I said, ‘It is indeed a special day.’ I don’t know how we got it, but then I said it.”
Daphne embarrassed: “But I still like that he thinks about that at all.”
