Daphne Deckers gets the lid on RTL Boulevard. While she’s pretty much publicly applied for a return, she hasn’t heard back from the show column. “No.”
RTL Boulevard has worn out quite a few presenters over the years. In the past, the program had a regular face, first Beau van Erven Dorens and later Winston Gerschtanowitz, but nowadays we work with a group of presenters because there are hardly any workhorses left at the Mediapark.
Daphne back?
Bridget Maasland and Daphne Bunskoek give RTL Boulevard quite a bit of character, but the other two presenters Eddy Zoëy and Vivienne van den Assem are not very popular. Isn’t it time for Daphne Deckers to return behind the presentation desk? She thinks so herself.
The Weekend explains to her this week: “Daphne Bunskoek is in her old place at RTL Boulevard. Earlier you told Weekend that you also thought it would be nice to return to the showbiz program at RTL 4. Are there any talks going on?”
Lid on nose
Daphne replies bluntly: “No.”
In other words: a big lid on her nose. She continues: “I did pitch a program idea. But I actually do quite a lot already. I am developing a film, as I said, I have my own podcast, but I have now also been asked to make another podcast.”
Is that all? No. “I am writing a new non-fiction book and my new book, for all ages, will be out in September. So so much is already happening.”
More than one thing
Television would be a welcome change for Daphne. She likes to combine several things. “When I started as a writer and as a presenter, it was still very much like: you have to be one thing. That’s over now, you can actually be anything you want to be.”
The chance that Daphne will still be asked to return to Boulevard is small. If Eddy and Vivienne are already exchanged, there is a greater chance that Leonie ter Braak or Renze Klamer will be used. After all, they are already under contract with RTL 4.
