Daphne Bunskoek causes anger among viewers of RTL Boulevard. She shouted in the live broadcast of that program yesterday, so during dinner time, that Sinterklaas does not exist at all.
It is a law in television land: if children are still awake, you cannot make comments or jokes about the authenticity of Sinterklaas. At least not without disguising it somewhat. Apparently Daphne Bunskoek doesn’t care about that: she made a huge beginner’s mistake yesterday in RTL Boulevard.
Daphne blunders
Miljuschka Witzenhausen stood at the desk of that program to chatter about ginger nuts and her own children. Then Daphne asks out of the blue: “And did it take them long to find out that there was no Saint?”
It leads to an extremely surprised expression on Miljuschka’s face. “Umm, ummm.”
Then Daphne, who has no children of her own, realizes that she is asking a stupid question: “Or does exist?”
‘What do you say?!’
Luuk Ikink doesn’t respond when Daphne looks at him: “What? I don’t even know what you said, Daphne.”
Daphne: “No, fine.”
Miljuscha tries to save the case: “No, no, no, no, no, no, you mean it took a long time for Saint Nicholas to know that it had to be closed? No, that took a while. I therefore wrote a letter twice and he understood that too.”
Viewers furious
Viewers of RTL Boulevard are angry that Daphne makes such a stupid beginner’s mistake. “Daphne Bunskoek has just ensured that all small children are now crying at their parent (s) and asking if Sint and Piet are real,” Kwit tweets.
Edje thinks it’s downright ridiculous. “What a strange statement from Daphne, bah. Yesterday also that she would otherwise have had children because she would have received gold. Weird person.”
Romee: “Well, that was not so nice for the little believers among us… A very sweet remark from that soured person.”
Not really smart
Linda doesn’t understand that Daphne could do such a thing. “Well, the Zwarte Piet problem has also been solved in one go. Not really a smart statement on national TV, around 7 am.”
Marinette thinks Daphne is a crass woman. “How stupid can you be!!! Nice shouting that Sinterklaas does not exist at 7.15 pm. Stupid action!”
