Danny de Munk shows up as a drag queen after media revolt: million viewers

It was a pretty restless time for Danny de Munk. In a juice video by Yvonne Coldeweijer, he was accused of transgressive behavior during his time with the musical Ciske de Rat. Now that the storm has passed, he appeared as a drag queen in the Carlo Boszhard show Make Up Your Mind yesterday.

Million viewers

Make Up Your Mind almost succeeded yesterday to exceed the limit of one million linear viewers for the second time this season. The fourth episode was good for 998 thousand viewers (24% market share). The grand finale of next week may break the season record, which stands at more than 1 million viewers.

Carlo’s drag show is currently not scoring as well as last year’s one-off special, which attracted 1.2 million viewers. That, including postponed viewing, was even 1.7 million. The current series, including delayed viewing, scores more than 1.2 million viewers per week. Quite a difference, but they’re still neat numbers.

Martine goes drag

The other celebrities who went drag in the RTL 4 show yesterday were Gerard Ekdom, Jamie Trenité, Leco van Zadelhoff and Martine van Os. The participation of the otherwise so controlled Omroep MAX star Martine was especially striking. These four stars entered the show as a candidate, while Danny only came to present a trophy.

One program did better than Make Up Your Mind at prime time, namely the NPO 1 hit Heel Holland Bakt with 2.2 million viewers (38%) on NPO 1. RTL 4’s Oh Wat Een Jaar (966 thousand), NPO 2’s Here The Van Rossems (752 thousand) and NPO 1’s Claudia de Breij: I am the most popular (631 thousand) here.

SBS 6 stays behind

SBS 6, which has had a disaster week with Johnny de Mol and Johan Derksen stepping down, also scores poorly during the weekend. The Saturday shows Code van Coppens and Impossible Duets were unable to conquer a place in the top fifteen viewing figures. 414 thousand and 509 thousand people watched that.

In the evening, the Ajax – Zwolle football match could be seen on ESPN. With 532 thousand viewers, it barely made it to the top fifteen. The sports channel was therefore the number five of the evening.

Viewing figures

Other programs that did not make the top 15 include Editie NL (504 thousand), Shownieuws (484 thousand) and De Grote Tuinverbouwing (335 thousand).
