The sun is shining in Thailand and the temperature is currently around 30 degrees.

If anything, it feels like a singing legend About Danny81, and about a travel companion Helmi from Loukasmäki, 22, lovely. They are currently vacationing in Phuket at a friend’s villa.

The duo’s traveling party includes a music influencer, a golfer and a sea captain.

– It’s been four weeks and two are still left. We have voted twice in the presidential elections. It’s interesting to see where the elections will take us, Danny, who follows the politics of the day, thinks to Iltalehti.

Mostly, however, the trip has been spent in Turin with the group. Small day trips to the mountains and the seaside have been made from the Phuket villa by mopeds and cars.

Danny, who resorted to a wheelchair at the airport, has been doing well in the heat, and he has now decided to undergo knee surgery after years of pain.

– Such strong temperature differences can also affect your health, but so far it has gone really well. Helmi and no one else in our party have had health problems, he says.

– After arriving in Finland, I aim to get knee surgery as soon as possible. I want to be fit when the Retrojeng tour starts.

Retro gang is just like Danny, Erkki Liikanen and Frederick. The experienced trio will head out on a ten-show tour in October.

– We have voted Helmi as meeting secretary when we start holding meetings with Frederik and Erkki Liikanen. Helmi also has her own number in our show, which we are starting to plan together.

Danny doesn’t think that the trio’s meetings will turn into a stalemate, as happened with the kings of Finnhittie in the past.

– I believe that Retrojeng’s concerts will be fun for both us and the audience!

Local surprises

Thai culture has become familiar to the music council over the years. Danny and Helmi Loukasmäki say that they enjoyed local dishes with devotion. The hotness of Thai food culture has also managed to surprise.

– I ate such a portion of chicken and rice with chili powder. Its hotness surprised me. I do like hot food, but too much is always too much, Helmi laughs.

– There are different spice mixes in the food here. It has been pleasant when I have been able to order seafood for the dining table. We like crayfish and fish, Danny accompanies.

The two are attracted to culture by its primitiveness and closeness to nature.

– Things have changed quite a lot here during the years that I have traveled here. Thai culture has modernized, many new restaurants and department stores have come here, Danny estimates.

Buddhist philosophy interests both of them so much that they went on a trip to marvel at the giant Buddha statue.

– We are interested in what kind of religion the locals have. This has been instructive and increased understanding of the diversity of life. Suddenly, Phuket is full of Chinese people when the Chinese New Year is celebrated next week, Danny and Helmi say.

They have swam both in the pool and in the sea. One of the highlights of the trip to Helmi Loukasmäki was the boat trip to the island.

– I went snorkeling. There is an interesting world under the water: sea urchins, jellyfish and fish of all colors. It was a nice experience, Helmi describes.

However, one thing confuses the Finnish tourists known to the whole nation.

– The traffic here is amazing. Sometimes you can see that the whole family is on one scooter. It is different from Finland – and dangerous! Helmi wonders.

– Local people drive like crazy, Danny says.

Fortunately, their place of residence is located in a quieter place, and traffic sounds do not disturb.

The limitations of life have touched Danny, because two of his friends are gig technicians Ame Uusitalo and a photographer Olavi Kaskisuo passed from time to eternity during a holiday trip.

– The tooth of time eats away at us listeners. I can be happy that I can still stay involved in this, says the music advisor.

An incredible sight

The local animals have piqued Danny and Helm’s interest – and brought them surprising situations.

– We have gone to study elephants and various other animals, says Danny.

– Here in front of our house was a cobra spitting poison. It had parked near that house. It had a mouse in its mouth, so it couldn’t spit.

Danny remembers that the duo saw a ten-meter long python lying in a ditch in the middle of the bustle of the city on a previous trip to Phuket.

– Yes, it scared me, those are such violent sights. This apartment is in a good location, so luckily those horrors didn’t come so much!
