Daniel Klose missed sensation at PDC tournament

Darts professional Daniel Klose just missed a sensation at the PDC tournament in Barnsley.

The 43-year-old – only number 129 in the world – lost in the final of the Players Championships to former world champion Gerwyn Price (Wales/number four in the world) 6:8.

Max Hopp remains the only German to ever win a Professional Darts Corporation tour event.

On the way to the final, “Dan The Man” Klose, who had only earned a tour ticket at the beginning of the year, defeated German number one Gabriel Clemens (6: 4).

In the round of 16 he eliminated the world number one and reigning title holder Michael Smith from England (6:5), in the semifinals there was a clear 7:3 against the two-time World Cup winner Peter Wright (Scotland).
