British designer Daniel Fletcher is preparing to step down from his role as Artistic Director for menswear at Fiorucci.
Fletcher, who has worked for the house since late 2019, announced the decision in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily. It has been an honor to work for the brand and he wishes Fiorucci all the best for the future.
The industry magazine added that they believed the split was amicable and that Fletcher wanted to focus on his own brand. More information on his and Fiorucci’s future plans is expected to be announced at a later date.Resort 2024 will be the designer’s final collection for Fiorucci.
The designer first made a name for himself with the debut of his eponymous brand in 2016. He later rose to prominence when he was voted runner-up on the Netflix reality series Next in Fashion.
During his time at Fiorucci, Fletcher expanded the brand’s categories into ready-to-wear, taking it beyond its typical denim, sweatshirt and t-shirt offering.
Founded in 1967 by Elio Fiorucci, the company was taken over by British clothing retailers Stephen and Janie Schaffer after his death in 2015. The duo relaunched the label in 2017.
Meanwhile, alongside his work at Fiorucci, Fletcher has set up his own brand, Daniel W. Fletcher, and often showcases his collections during London Fashion Week.
