Daniel Altmaier is in the round of 16 at the ATP tournament in Dallas.
The 24-year-old tennis pro from Kempen clearly won his opening match against the American qualifier Zachary Svajda 6:2, 6:4.
Four days after his bitter defeat in the Davis Cup decider against the Swiss Stan Wawrinka, Altmaier needed 1:25 hours for his success. Altmaier, for whom it was the first main draw win this year, now has to deal with the American John Isner, seeded number five.
