The words of the Brazilian full-back
Dani Alves has just turned 39 and after his experience last season with his return to the Barcelonais currently without a team as he is released from the club blaugrana. Despite his advanced age, the Brazilian full-back still has a great desire to play and has no intention of hanging up his boots. In an interview with The Guardianthe player talked about his current feelings and his future:
BARCELONA – “I didn’t leave sad. I left happy to be back at Barcelona. I dreamed for five years wishing to experience this second moment. The only thing I didn’t like was how my departure was handled. Since when I arrived I made it clear that I was no longer a 20 year old boy and that I wanted things to be done with my head held high, without hiding things. But this club has sinned in recent years. Barcelona does not care about the people who made history of the club culê, I would like Barcelona to do things differently. I’m not talking about myself because my situation was another scenario. I am eternally grateful to Xavi and the president for bringing me back. “
FUTURE AND AGE – “I like challenges and I adapt to any situation. Today I am unemployed, but interesting things have emerged. I am doing my study on places to go that have a good level of competitiveness. This is football. You have to be together with people who are good. they want the same goal, they want to compete, win. I like to win. I want to go somewhere where I can win. I know everyone is talking about my age, that I’m old, that 20 years ago everyone wanted me and not today. I completely disagree because today I have an experience that I didn’t have 20 years ago. When there is a big game, 20-year-olds get nervous and worried, but I don’t. Age has its pros and cons: there are many things that you do when you are 20, but you don’t do them when you are older. Maturity comes from just living. I also have the experience of having lived almost everything in sport. “
