European table tennis champion Dang Qiu believes his teammate Timo Boll, who has been injured for a long time, is still capable of top sporting performances.
Boll “proved very often that he can come back quickly and suddenly play at the top level again,” said Qiu at a press conference on the fringes of the European Games in Kraków. If the 42-year-old stays fit, “then he has no limits,” says Qiu.

Boll returns to the table at the European Games in Poland after a long-term shoulder injury and initially only competes in the team competition. His big goal is the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Qiu, who secured a quota place for Paris in Poland together with the European Championship runner-up Nina Mittelham with the gold medal in mixed, described it as a “privilege” to have been playing with his “friend” Boll for years in the club at Borussia Düsseldorf and in the national team to be allowed.
