Stonight at 8.35pm the eighth episode of Dancing with the Stars 2023. There are six couples competing, ready to welcome the opinions of the jury composed of Carolyn Smith (president), Fabio Canino, Selvaggia Lucarelli, Guillermo Mariotto and Ivan Zazzaroni. The program kicks off the Telethon marathonwhich will involve various Rai programs until 17 December.

The host is Milly Carlucci, who welcomes the new dancers to the stage for a night. Two characters in whose career dance has played a fundamental role: Stefano De Martino and Gabriel Garko.
Fresh from the latest edition of Bar Stella (concluded Wednesday 6 December), for De Martino it’s the first time to dancing with the Stars. Dancer, he gained popularity in 2009 with Friends of Maria De Filippi. Soon after, she takes part in several programs, including Little giants, Selfie – Things changeuntil you become a correspondent to The Island of the Famous 2018. In 2019 he made his debut as a host Made in South And Tonight anything is possible. Face of Rai 2, he returns to the air on 26 December with the one man show From Christmas to Boxing Day. He was recently the narrator of The college 8.
Gabriel Garko – after he retired from the scene in 2017 – participated in Dancing in 2022. An excellent performance, although he had to withdraw due to a shoulder injury. In 2024 will be the protagonist together with Anna Safroncik of the series If I could say goodbye to you directed by Simona Izzo and Ricky Tognazzi for Canale 5.

The 6 couples competing and the eliminated competitors
The cast is now halved. From 12 there are 6 couples left. Sara Croce and Luca Favilla, Teo Mammucari and Anastasia Kuzmina, Wanda Nara and Pasquale La Rocca, Lorenzo Tano and Lucrezia Lando, Giovanni Terzi and Giada Lini, Simona Ventura and Samuel Peron.
During the seventh episode, Antonio Caprarica – paired with Maria Ermachkova – has announced his intention to retire. «We are entering a really tough phase of the game», commented the holder of the treasure Alberto Matano, «and we are sorry that someone has to abandon». It is the second withdrawal of this edition, after the abandonment of Lino Banfi paired with Alessandra Tripoli.
The eliminated couple, however, was the one formed by Carlotta Mantovan and Moreno Porcu. Nothing, however, is already written. Why in the next episodes there will be a repechage which will bring some of the eliminated competitors back into the race. Thus subverting predictions and fans, as happened last year with Luisella Costamagna, who ultimately won the program.

Regardless of the final result, Dancing with the Stars 2023 is built in line with Saturday night light entertainment. This year, then, the controversies have not been excessive. The clashes between Teo Mammucari and the jury, for example, were heated but without insults, threats and complaints as happened in the past.

For the charisma and sense of the show, this year is the year of Simona Ventura. The multitasking presenter occupies the stage by telling herself and avoiding any friction with the judges, indeed she willingly accepts the judgments. «With Simona the level is raised»commented Ivan Zazzaroni during the last episode.
And it’s impossible to blame him, because he knows how to dance, he knows how to entertain and above all he knows the craft and the times, and transforms the few minutes of performance into something more than a choreography, alternating various registers. She admitted that participating in the program was a winning choice: «Dancing It’s not that it’s doing me any good, it’s doing me very well.”
