Flood of medals for Germany at the World Dance Championships: The standard formation of hosts Braunschweiger TSC was just as unbeatable as the Latin dancers of the Grün-Gold-Club Bremen.

The Bremen team did justice to their role as favorites late on Saturday evening and, with their choreography “Emozioni 2022” full of extreme difficulties, confidently prevailed in front of the Mongolian formation Moon Dance and the dancers of TSG Bremerhaven, who also made it onto the podium in third place. It was the twelfth world championship title for the green-gold club.

“Just great! But it’s not easy to always be up there and deliver. The others are good too and want to do it. And we have to deliver. It’s great to be able to do it again and again,” said Bremen’s legendary coach Roberto Albanese, his protégés a total of 36.00 points – 2.25 more than the Vice World Champion from Mongolia.

Team from Ukraine makes it to the final

Even before the start of the final, there was a goosebump moment when the Ukrainian team Adagio, who prepared themselves in the middle of the war under the most difficult conditions and only received the exit permit shortly before the World Cup, gave it a goose bumps. With “Unbreakable” the formation surprisingly made it into the final and finished fifth in the end. Only sixth was Vice European Champion HSV Zwölfaxing.

Result of the final of the Latin formations:

1. Green Gold Club Bremen (Emozioni 2022) – 36.00
2. Moon Dance, Mongolia (The Power of the 4 Elements) – 33.75
3. TSG Bremerhaven (Time Machine) – 33.40
4. Star Dance, Mongolia (DJ and Dance Journey) – 32.85
5. Adagio Irpin, Ukraine (Unbreakable) – 32.51
6. HSV Zwölfaxing, Austria (One Chance) – 31.56

Braunschweig celebrates world title number eleven

The Braunschweig Dance Sport Club also cheered. Two years in a row, the BTSC had to cancel the standard World Cup formations due to Corona. Now the Lower Saxony used their home game and brought the title back to the Lion City for the first time since 2014 with their new choreography “Dancing on the Ceiling” to the music of Lionel Richie. The up-and-coming dance sport team ASC Göttingen took second place, only 0.39 points behind.

“I’m sensationally satisfied with the performance. The team danced their hearts out,” said Braunschweig’s head coach Rüdiger Knaack, who has also been the national coach for a few months. With his “Lions” the native of Hamburg has already collected his eleventh World Cup gold.

Russian teams excluded

For the first time since 1991, standard and latin formations danced in parallel at the same place for the World Cup crowns. A total of 29 teams took part in Braunschweig. The Russian and Belarusian teams were not allowed to participate because of the war of aggression against Ukraine.
