Damon Albarn didn’t want to be photographed with James Blunt

“I was put in the locker room while they were taking the picture,” Blunt says of the awkward group photo moment.

Uncomfortable: In a new podcast interview, James Blunt remembers the moment in his career when Blur and Gorillaz singer Damon Albarn didn’t want to pose for a photo with him.

Blunt explains on “Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake” that this moment is behind the scenes on the TV show
“Later with Jools Holland” by BCC happened. Both musicians performed there and photos are usually taken of the guests after the show, which later hang on the walls in the studios. But when it came time to take the group photo in question, Albarn is said to have vehemently refused.

When asked whether he was the reason for Albarn’s refusal, James Blunt said in the podcast: “I don’t know for sure. He [Damon Albarn] “I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but he didn’t want me to be in the photo for the episode.”

He continued: “For some reason he didn’t want me in the photo, so I was put in my dressing room while they took the picture. Then he left and they took me out for a second photo, but my photo didn’t end up on the wall.”

What exactly Albarn’s problem was in the situation is unclear. The singer-songwriter has not yet commented on the incident.

His autobiographical work LOOSELY BASED ON A MADE-UP STORY: A NON-MEMOIR was also released on October 26th, in which he also reports more about his encounters in the industry, as well as “Later with Jools Holland”.
