The Italian coach Luca Dalmonte is supposed to save the Fraport Skyliners from Frankfurt from relegation in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL). The Hessians have signed the 58-year-old until the end of the season with the option of continued employment. The club announced this on Wednesday.
Frankfurt is penultimate with 12:36 points, followed by the JobStairs Giessen 46ers (10:36). Already on Friday (7:00 p.m. / MagentaSport) for the home game against ratiopharm Ulm, Dalmonte will replace interim coach Klaus Perwas, who stepped in after Diego Ocampo was fired.
Dalmonte was the coach of Italian first division club Fortitudo Bologna in the 2020/21 season. He was previously under contract with Virtus Rom and Fenerbahce Istanbul, among others.
