CAnnes, May 16th. (askanews) – We speak more and more about IA, also at the Cannes Film Festival. The same films ask questions about the future of the use of this technology and face the fears that make a wrong use of it, as in the “Dalloway” of the French director Yann Gozlan, presented in the projection of midnight, who tells the story of a writer who has for some time lost inspiration, played by Cécile de France.
To write his book, he is assisted by an artificial generative intelligence, Dalloway – voiced by the French singer Mylène Farmer – who however becomes increasingly intrusive, creates addiction, making her lose her beliefs. The film is a psychological thriller in which Yann Gozlan wonders about the impact of technology about artistic creation. “We live in an era in which, in any case, there is this anguish, this almost existential threat – explained the actress – The film is a quite allegorical way of asking this deep question: and if human beings become useless, then they no longer have any meaning? No longer makes sense to exist?”.
And the director said: “The question is: where can this tool be replaced by us? Is this that worries me, and above all that giving so much of this artificial intelligence, we will not miss some faculties such as creativity? Chatgpt, for example, by virtue to use it, will make us lose the ability to write? Is a question that I ask me and I think that somewhere, when a task is delegated, to perform it “.
