Nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb may well bury his dream of winning the legendary Dakar Rally right at his premiere. His Peugeot team confirmed reports that the car of the overall leader overturned several times less than 30 kilometers from the finish of the eighth stage over 393 kilometers in Argentina from Salta to Belen. According to Peugeot, the 41-year-old Frenchman Loeb and his Monegasque co-driver Daniel Elena were “okay” and even able to repair the car sufficiently to reach the stage finish. It was initially unclear whether the duo could continue the race on Tuesday.
