Two DIY maintenance operations in the Gazzetta Motori workshop: replace the worn brake pads and change a back lighthouse bulb. Here’s how to do step by step
In the Gazzetta Motori workshop there is a Sandero Dacia that needs a couple of do -it -yourself maintenance interventions. We are talking about the replacement of the brake pads and the replacement of a light bulb of one of the two headlights. The second decidedly simpler operation than the first, but both deserve an in -depth analysis in order to avoid damage and with the intention of saving some handfuls of euros without contacting a specialized workshop. Important, indeed fundamental, to use the right equipment, such as that provided by Beta tools: primarily for safety reasons, then also for practicality. We then park on our Dacia Sandero slowly and insert the handbrake, then proceeding to lift the front of the car with a cric, ensuring that the handle is well tightened to the right, in order to prevent the car from going on suddenly.
Removal of brake pads

We then proceed by unscrewing the bolts of the wheel (better if with a screwdriver pistol combined with a 17 compass) and completely removing the circle. Being in itself a very dark area, it is advisable to help with a LED wireless lamp to go to illuminate where necessary. Removed the circle, you move to work on the pliers: in this case you have to free, with a 10 -cricchet key, the pads with brake caliper, then helping us with a screwdriver to remove them from their seat. Once the removal is over, the pliers and then the hub is cleaned first.
Replacement brake pads

All that remains is to insert the new pads in their housing: no shots are needed, but a simple pressure to fit them. Before closing the caliper, it is necessary to reposition the piston in its headquarters; A tap -like tool to Morse pushes it gently without damaging the gaskets. At this point the wheel is reassembled by going to pull the dice with the screwdriver, proceed to tighten the bolts with a zero reset dynamometric key combined with a 17 compass (the tightening torque, expressed in NM, is indicated by the parent company), download the cric by slowly rotating the sleeve to the left and the operation is repeated on the other front wheel.
Replacement bulbs

In equal way compared to the previous operation, we proceed to illuminate the affected area (inside the luggage compartment) to replace the lighthouse bulb. The operation is very simple: just unscrew a screw to extract the lighthouse, after having released the connector. Once resting on the chest of drawers or the headlight, you make use of a nylon lever to go to unlock four hooks that keep the cap together. To remove the light bulb, just push down and rotate counterclockwise. From the kit provided by Dacia we will thus go to take the corresponding light bulb and insert it in its headquarters by pushing and making them half a time clockwise. The advice is to always use clean gloves in order to avoid damaging the bulb of the light bulb. All you do not fail to store the bulbs in your accommodation and reassemble everything.
