Versatility and adaptation to the market are two of the peculiarities that are increasingly being placed side by side with the Dacia brand and its models. It has been like this since its debut also for Jogger, the new car that unites the world of wagons with that of crossovers and multispaces. And if three souls can be many but not enough, now it is not excluded to soon add a fourth one, designed for the camper. This was confirmed by the vice-president of the Romanian brand, Lionel Jaillet, who in a recent interview said that a leisure version of the latest model to enter the range could debut soon. Apparently, the manufacturer would have also considered the possibility of proposing a van variant of the Jogger and then discard this solution since this model does not comply with the N1 homologation rules for light commercial vehicles.
SPARTAN INTERIORS – Jaillet, told Auto Express that a Jogger camper is being worked on and could debut soon enough. The reason: Dacia wants to reach a wider clientele, including those who want to do outdoor activities. The Jogger “has the right spirit for it,” he stressed. Moreover, the company has not decided whether the conversion to a camper will be represented by a model in its own right or will be carried out through a package of ad hoc accessories. It must be said that based on the Dacia vision and to maintain a competitive price, one should not expect a double bed, a 50 ” TV or a full shower. But the boxy back of the Jogger is perfect for a camping module: a place to sleep, some storage, and a small kitchenette with the bare essentials.
THE FITTERS
–
In reality, it could also happen that Dacia is inspired by what specialized fitters have done on the Dokker, such as Camperiz or Yevana, who managed to “camperize” it by keeping it under the 20 thousand euro wall, equipping it with the essentials for traveling. Then there is a folding double bed measuring 1.95 meters long by 1.1 wide and is made up of a 70mm thick mattress, foldable into three pieces, resting on a birch wood base. Then a digital control display and a roof ventilation hatch. The portable kitchen is complete with stove, 31-liter refrigerator, stainless steel sink and 32-liter fresh water tank. Plus, an outdoor shower is included, and there’s no shortage of chest of drawers with safety locks and an outdoor folding table for outdoor breakfast, lunch or dinner. In the case of Yevana, the vehicle is equipped with a 110 HP bifuel petrol / LPG engine or a 95 HP turbodiesel
