In his first season with the Catalan giants, Oscar Da Silva won the Spanish basketball championship with FC Barcelona. With a 93:82 (41:38) win at arch-rival Real Madrid, Barcelona won the best-of-five final series in the ACB league 3-0. It’s Barca’s 20th league title.
Forward Da Silva (24), who switched from the then German champions Alba Berlin to the Spanish top club last summer, scored four points in 10:27 minutes on Tuesday. The guests’ top scorer was former NBA professional Jan Vesely from the Czech Republic (19).
Da Silva is part of the national team’s 18-man squad preparing for the World Cup in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines (25 August to 10 September).
