Another test as a ruler for the Belgian champion towards the World Cup on 5 February: this time he won by detachment
This time it was a victory by detachment, by knockout. This time the eagerly awaited duel between Wout van Aert and Mathieu Van der Poel in the sand of Koksijde, in Belgium, was not until the finish line, yet another chapter in the dream rivalry of the cross (and not only) of recent years. Yes, no duel because Wout van Aert clearly won the X20 trophy, finishing alone with over a minute ahead of the Dutchman. Van Aert has so far won 6 crosses out of the 9 in which he has participated (the worst result was second place) and in direct comparisons this season with Mathieu Van der Poel he is ahead 5-3: numbers that make him the favorite for the World Cup of Hoogerheide (Holland) scheduled for Sunday 5 February.
