A cyclist was seriously injured on Wednesday evening after being kicked by a motorist at the intersection at Zuidervaart and Boekelerweg in Zuidschermer. The cyclist was rushed to hospital.
The accident happened around 9:30 am this evening. The cyclist suffered serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to hospital. Two ambulances were called and the trauma helicopter was also called in.
The driver of the car was shocked, but had to go to the station for questioning. It is still unclear exactly how the accident could have happened. The police and the Traffic Accident Analysis have closed the intersection and have started an investigation.
