Cyclist Sam Oomen cannot take action for his Jumbo-Visma team for the time being. The 27-year-old Tilburger has a broken shoulder blade from his fall in the Tour of the Algarve last week.
Jumbo-Visma first reported on Saturday that Oomen had no fractures. He would only have a bruise on his shoulder from the fall in the fourth stage of the Portuguese cycling race. As a result, the rider had to give up.
The damage now appears to be worse than initially thought. De Brabant, who has been driving for Jumbo-Visma since 2021, will in any case miss the multi-day Italian stage race Tirreno-Adriatico at the beginning of next month due to his injury.
