Cyclist runs over woman and leaves her seriously injured, still without a trace

The woman who cycled over a 68-year-old woman in Helmond in April has still not come forward. The police and the judiciary find her behavior so dangerous and unacceptable that Bureau Brabant considers it on Monday evening. The victim suffered serious injuries and is still suffering from the collision months later.

The incident happened on Good Friday, at 7 p.m. The still unknown cyclist drove at high speed through the tunnel of the Stationsstraat in Helmond. It went so fast that she couldn’t avoid a couple walking there. The female half of the couple fell, as did the perpetrator. The cyclist quickly got up and drove away. The victim left them behind.

stocky posture
The police take the incident very seriously and show images of the perpetrator in Bureau Brabant. It concerns a woman of 20 to 35 years old, who was sitting on an old brown-green Gazelle women’s bicycle. She had short black hair, a stout build and her height is estimated at about 5’7″.

The victim was also injured in one arm. The wound had to be stitched up, according to photos that were shown in the tracing program.
