Cyclist died in collision with car, driver under the influence of drugs NOW

A 33-year-old man died in an accident at the Boszoom in Rotterdam-Kralingen. The cyclist was crossing the intersection of Boszoom and Lagelandsepad when a motorist hit him. The 26-year-old driver had used drugs.

The accident took place in the night from Friday to Saturday, around 4.15 am. The victim was seriously injured in the incident, after which emergency services tried to resuscitate him. Unfortunately, this could not prevent his death. He died of his injuries.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The driver of the vehicle has been arrested. The Boszoom, near the Kralingse Bos, was closed for an hour after the accident.

A saliva test was taken from the 26-year-old driver of the car. This had a positive effect on the use of drugs. The Rotterdammer was taken to the office and his car was seized.
