Charlotte Kool has won the second stage in the Vuelta Femenina. “Very nice. My first big victory in a big round”, said the cyclist from Blaricum immediately after the finish. It is Kool’s third stage victory of the season. She previously won two stages in the UAE Tour.
The North Holland rider was the fastest in a mass sprint. The American Dygert started the sprint very early, making it a very long sprint. Kool was well placed and eventually won by one bike length. Second was Marianne Vos and Dygert third.
Tomorrow the sprinter has another chance of a stage victory, because the third stage is almost flat.
Red pullover
Marianne Vos took the red leader’s jersey because of her second place and is therefore first in the general classification. Dygert is one second behind and Femke Markus from Amstelveen is third, two seconds behind Vos.
