Cyclist (70) no longer sleeps a wink after falling and threatening a motorist

A 70-year-old man who came face to face with an aggressive driver while cycling in Hilversum on Wednesday, July 12, and fell as a result, no longer sleeps a wink. He has sleepless nights because of the threat from a motorist.

A 70-year-old man cycles on July 12 in the morning around half past ten on the Oude Torenstraat towards the Vaartweg in Hilversum. The cyclist sees a car approaching quickly that is not slowing down.

The man gets off his bike, but the driver does not stop. While driving and shouting, the driver threatens the victim. The cyclist lets go and leaves because of the car driver’s aggressive attitude and language.

But then things go completely wrong. The victim cycles further onto the Vaartweg on the cycle path. Suddenly the man is cut off by the car driver. The man sees this too late and falls hard to the ground. The driver yells at the victim for hitting his car. According to police, the man threatened the victim.

Since then, the man hasn’t slept a wink. According to the police, he has a lot of difficulty processing the situation. The police have investigated, but unfortunately have little information. The police are calling for images to be shared that may help the investigation.
