Cyclist (60) in danger of life in accident in Lichtervelde

The accident happened about 8:15 am.

May be blinded by the sun

A 23-year-old heavily pregnant woman from Lichtervelde wanted to turn onto the busy Roeselarebaan from the Hazelstraat. During that maneuver she noticed a 60-year-old cyclist who was trying to cross the Roeselarebaan too late. The woman was probably blinded by the low sun.

The man was resuscitated on the spot and transferred in critical condition to AZ Delta in Roeselare. The pregnant woman was taken to hospital in Torhout for a check-up.
