Cyclist (37) arrested after extreme traffic aggression: punches for victim

The victim from Oudenburg is seriously injured. The perpetrator from Ostend has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Twenty punches

The facts took place on Sunday afternoon around 2 pm at the intersection of Pensjagersstraat and Rosmolenstraat in the Stene district. The victim pointed out to the perpetrator that the traffic situation in the Pensjagersstraat has changed.

The sixty-year-old drove after the thirty-something, after which the argument escalated. Both cyclists crashed. The Ostend man (37) hit the other man (63) up to twenty times with his fist. The victim suffered an eye socket injury.

Under warrant of arrest

A man who saw everything happen was able to separate the two ruffs while waiting for the police. The thirty-year-old was arrested and has been detained by the investigating judge. The victim has been unable to work for at least a week.
