The President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Arne Schönbohm, is said to maintain connections to the “Cyber-Sicherheitsrat Deutschland eV” association. This was explained in the “ZDF Magazin Royale” by Jan Böhmermann. Until 2016, Schönbohm was founding president of the association “Cyber-Sicherheitsrat Deutschland eV”. The association is said to have points of contact with the Russian secret service. For these reasons, Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) wants to replace the President of the BSI.
The ministry says: “It is being examined how a quick change of president can be achieved. The planned joint press conference by Faeser and Schönbohm on Thursday will be cancelled.”
The security authorities are investigating the case
The incident is taken very seriously by the security authorities and the club is subjected to a number of tests.
It is interesting that Schönbohm banned his employees at the BSI from participating in the activities of the “Cyber-Sicherheitsrat Deutschland eV” association. According to photos on Twitter, he was only recently at an anniversary event for the club.
