UMK artist Susanna Alexandra tells in Viisupodi how she found out about admission to UMK.
One of the seven artists of the New Music competition is Cyan Kicks, who is participating in the competition again. The band’s soloist and frontman Susanna Alexandra visited Iltalehti’s Viisupodiin which he tells, among other things, why the band decided to participate in the second competition, who is their toughest competitor and how painful it was to wait for information about admission to UMK.
– We were very nervous. Riku, our “record company uncle” told us then that “today or at the latest tomorrow there will be a call if you are involved”, Susanna recalls and refers to the founder and CEO of Ranka Kustannus Riku Pääkkösen.
– I bombarded Riku with so many messages. I already thought that it would stop me. Riku said that “Susanna, I’ll let you know then, calm down”. But I wanted to know, this song felt so right. Riku’s phone must have been steaming.
Finally, the expected group video call came and Cyan Kicks was told about admission to UMK.
– I vented and screamed to myself, Susanna laughs.
