BERLIN (dpa-AFX) – The Federal Constitutional Court’s ruling on the 2021 supplementary budget will also concern the Bundestag in the short term. At the request of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group, there will be a current hour in parliament on Thursday afternoon. After a lawsuit from the Union parties, the Karlsruhe judges decided that the second supplementary budget was unconstitutional because of a violation of the debt brake.
The current hour on the future of the 49 euro ticket, which was actually planned for Thursday, will therefore be brought forward to Wednesday. The current hour on the consequences of the growing number of asylum seekers, originally requested by the Union, was withdrawn by the applicants./ax/DP/stw
