Despite the abuse scandal surrounding Till Lindemann, Rammstein is currently enjoying great success in the album charts.
The scandal surrounding Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann does not seem to affect the chart success of the Berlin band – on the contrary. Rammstein are this week with six albums in the Top 100 Albums Chart represent. Some of the rankings have even improved massively compared to the previous week, and there are also two re-entries.
The band’s current album, “Zeit”, released in 2022, climbed a full 19 places compared to the previous week and comes in at number 10.
The untitled album (2019) is in 20th place on the album charts, which was 52nd in the previous week. “Mutter” (2001) takes in number 25 – the album up a full 36 spots from the previous week. Three returns complete the series: “Reise, Reise” (2004) at number 55, “Love is for everyone there” (2009) at number 57 and “Herzeleid” at number 90.
As the “FAZ” reported, market leader Universal Music has made representations to the German music industry association BVMI. The company’s label, with which Rammstein is under contract, expressly and on behalf of the band wanted a newly released and potentially commercially successful album not to be listed in the charts. Universal had previously announced that it would pause cooperation with the band until allegations of abuse were resolved.
