The British caused a big surprise in the semifinals against Pyeongchang Olympic champions Sweden. Japan had also managed to unexpectedly make it into the final against the favored Switzerland. In the gold game, Great Britain, represented solely by Scots, paved the way to the title with a strong seventh end (4-0).

The Swedes had secured bronze the day before by beating Switzerland 9:7.
Sweden Olympic champion for men
The Swedish men won their first curling gold at the Winter Olympics in China. A 5-4 win against Great Britain after the first extra end was enough on Saturday. Bronze went to Canada after beating the USA 8-5. The Americans became Olympic champions in Pyeongchang in 2018 by beating Sweden.
