SC striker replaces Hrgota
Ermedin Demirovic (23) set a curious Bundesliga record when he was substituted at RB Leipzig (1-1). As the first professional since the club was founded in 1963, the attacker from SC Freiburg never played the full distance in his first 53 appearances in the top German division. This resulted in a query in the TM database.
Players with the longest waiting time for their first full-distance match in the Bundesliga
The Bosnian left Branimir Hrgota (29) behind, who was not allowed to play through once in his first 52 first division games – at that time still in the service of Borussia Mönchengladbach. Demirovic’s team-mate Woo-yeong Jeong (22) is currently on the same level as Hrgota in 2014, and coach Christian Streich has also not let more than 90 minutes plus injury time on the field. Before his time in Breisgau, the South Korean had already made a brief appearance for FC Bayern.
This list includes ten players who have waited or are still waiting at least 40 games for their first full-distance Bundesliga match. Among them is Bayern’s Jamal Musiala (19), who could reach the mark of 50 Bundesliga games as the seventh youngest in the duel on matchday 26 at TSG Hoffenheim – he would be the first Munich player to make the top 10 (overview).
