Cupid in supermarket: “Those who shop with a pink shopping basket are looking for a date”

Love is in the air in a supermarket in Lauwe. Especially with those who walk around with such a pink shopping basket. “I think that’s a nice action, I say: I’ll take such a basket. We also know that it may not result in 20 couples. But people do see it as a playful action and it’s fun,” says one of the customers.

It’s Valentine’s Day next week, so the idea didn’t just fall out of the blue. The question is of course: has there been any flirting between the shelves yet?

“I don’t know. But there are already people who have entered the store with such a pink basket. And go outside together? Not for the time being, but Valentine’s Day is only Tuesday, isn’t it,” says business manager Sebastien Sintobin.

And it seems a bit premature, but the first wedding present has also been arranged: “Yes, anyway: the aperitif on the first wedding is ours!”
